Strange events occured in the mountains surrounding Raccoon City. Lots of people have disappeared and a ragged hiker's body has been found by the river.

The police send members of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Squad), an elite unit specialized in risky operations to find back the Bravo team sent a few hours before but whose communication has strangely been interrupted and also to understand those 'murders'.

Arriving on the place where the helicopter of the Bravo team crashed, troubles begin and chased by creatures in the woods, they run to take refuge in a mysterious castle. But the ultimate survivors will quickly understand there's something wrong in this place...

The player can choose to be Jill Valentine for easy mode or Chris Redfield for the hard mode. The adventure will considerably change according to the character you choose: the weapons, the enigmas, people you meet...

But with both of them, you will start in this giant castle discovering that the inhabitants are... zombies. You will have many weapons to kill them (knife, bazooka, magnum, machine gun...)

Ammunitions are limited so you'd better use them in a clever way! You can't shoot quickly; you have to press the button first so that the character rises the weapon and shoot.

The game focuses a lot on fixed plans which give a horrific dimension to the scenes.
