Satoshi Tajiri is the creator of the Pokemon universe, he created a role-playing game with some element of
strategy in which the goal of the player was to collect every existing Pokemon. You start with a "starter Pokemon" of grass-type, fire-type or water-type. Every type has its particularities and it is up to the player to decide which one is the best.
In the first generation of the game, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue (1996), and Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition (1998), there was 151 species of Pokemon. The second generation (2000 to 2003) adds 100 new species, some new gameplay features and a day and night system. In the third generation (2003 to 2006), 135 new Pokemon were introduced. The fourth generation began in 2006 with the release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and added 135 new Pokemon bringing the total of Pokemon species to 493.
This series is so famous that a sort of subculture appeared, they are devoted in studying Pokemon and the battling strategy that should be used...
