Pikmin

Pikmin is a videogame, created by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo, released on Game Cube in 2001.

The game allows the player to have a third-person viewpoint; it is an action and strategy game presenting incredible alive environments. The players control an astronaut, captain Olimar which vessels crashed on a strange planet.

The goal is to find all the pieces of his vessel disseminated throughout the planet.
Fortunately for Captain Olimar, on this planet are living little creatures called Pikmin.
The Pikmin are a vegetal form of life existing in three colours, red, blue and yellow. Each one has his own characteristic that Olimar will be able to exploit for his own interest.

Olimar is the main character followed by the Pikmin, whom he directs.
The red ones resist to fire, the blue ones can survive in water and the yellow ones can destroy obstacles.

To retrieve the vessel parts, there are generally three steps. The first is to locate the part; the second one is to select the appropriate numbers and colours of Pikmin needed to complete the tasks, and then execute them.

The player has to do it carefully because only 100 Pikmin exist. The third step is to secure the part and after that it can be brought back. All 30 parts are retrieved in this manner.
