A MMORPG or Massively multiplayer online role-playing game is a type of game played online where players can interact with each others in a virtual world. A MMORPG is a RPG played online. In those games, the players have a character and he or she controls him or her. In those MMORPG the number of players is huge and the virtual world is persistent which means that even when they are not connected, the world keeps evolving.

Recently games like World of Warcraft have an important community (about 10 millions accounts) and this community is what makes the game so interesting. The existence of a community is one of the main reasons that explain the success of those games. Indeed, sometimes the player doesn't play to kill monsters or to do different types of quests, he plays to chat to his guild mate, or to the friends he made while playing. This is why it can be dangerous to play too much to MMORPG because it can disconnect the player from the reality and he forgets to live in the real world.

Nevertheless, MMORPG are the future of video games, and it will surely be a brilliant one.
