The Halo Trilogy is a videogame series developed by Bungie Software and edited by Microsoft Games.

Halo universe depicts a conflict between humanity represented by the United Nations Space Command as well as a theocratic coalition and alien militaries: the Covenant. The series focuses on the Master Chief, a cybernetically improved human super-soldier equipped with technologically-advanced battle armour, and his artificial intelligence companion, Cortana.

The largest part of the action takes place according to the calendar used by the UNSC, between 2552 and 2553.

During this era, humanity really improved concerning space conquest and has overtaken the solar system while colonizing new planets in a huge field. Searches have allowed the creation of a sub spatial reactor (or Shaw-Fujikawa), space trips becoming much quicker than before, thus helping the expansion of humanity far from Earth.

However in 2525, Humanity settled contacts with aliens, the Covenant which destroyed one by one each human colony, advancing more and more closer to Earth, the stronghold of humanity.
