Dynasty Warriors is a series of action videogames developed by Koei.
After starting as a simple one on one fighting game, the Dynasty Warriors series quickly changed directions introducing a real adventure in a fictional medieval China. In each game, the player chose a general who had to complete all sorts of missions to defeat the different kingdoms and reign in a unified China.

The series quickly became the most notorious hack n slash games. The games had you fighting against hundreds of soldiers at the same time using either your mighty weapon or your unnatural abilities. One of their particularities was to offer a wide variety of playable characters who each had their own weapons and objectives.

Dynasty Warriors has managed to survive every generation of consoles thanks to its incredible action oriented gameplay but also thanks to its deeply developed characters and environment. As of today, there are 21 official games in the series and it will not stop there.
