Donkey Kong is a video game hero from Nintendo who appeared for the first time in 1981 in the same named game under the form of an arcade an electronic game.
Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, this character is the enemy of Jumpman who will become Mario, his master to whom he steals the fiancée.

Donkey Kong is at the beginning a bad character who is not well treated by Mario and thus kidnaps Lady, the fiancée. The player takes the role of Jumpman and has to save his darling, who will be a recurrent character throughout the episodes.

After that, Donkey Kong becomes Donkey Kong country, a cool gorilla that for a few bananas will with his nephew follow a little monkey called Diddy Kong and a big crocodile named King K Rool.

The game was one of the first platform games, the interest being focused on the ability to move through four levels while escaping moving obstacles.
