Story begins a few years before the first episode where we see Dante younger and fierier than ever.

His twin brother, Vergil wants to reopen the doors of demon' world to gain all the power of his father Sparda. War is declared when he accepts an offer 'he couldn't refuse'.

The gameplay introduces some novelties like the choice of fight styles and the possibility to take again a mission already done to improve the character, find new secrets and get a better score.

Five difficulty modes are available and the game is divided in 20 episodes, each one having a title giving a tip about the mission
