Death Jr. II Root of Evil is an action and adventure game developed by Backbone Entertainment and published by Konami, released between 2006 and 2007 for PlayStation Portable and Wii. This is a single-player game and also features a two-player Ad Hoc mode.

This game received a warmer reception than the original game Death Jr., it received generally good reviews from the gaming press, and it features new gameplay elements and has the same kind of humoristic and quirky atmosphere.

The game has various differences from the first, as it introduces unlimited amount of continues and more cinematic. In addition to this a second playable character is introduced, Pandora.

Death Jr. (DJ) the Grim Reaper s teenage son is back with his gothic friend Pandora. They find a cocoon or risk failing biology, meanwhile DJ gets out a card that says to Pandora that he likes her but decides not to give it to her. DJ and Pandora discover a giant cocoon and as they argue about who should get it.

What they ignore is that inside the cocoon lies an evil dryad-like creature and extremely dangerous creature, called Furi, who is trying to take over the world. Pandora and DJ knock the cocoon down and release Furi in her original form; she knocks DJ and Pandora off a cliff.

Furi is enraged that she is awakened by DJ and Pandora before her transformation to the ultimate force of evil is complete. She starts off as a small waif-like villain but grows in power by sucking the life force out of humans and forest creatures.

Furi even has the ability to control the forces of natures and bring inanimate objects to life.

Furi eventually attacks DJ s father and kidnaps him. Furi manages to overpower Death and enveloped him in vines.

When Death Jr. II Root of Evil begins, you can choose whether you want to play as Death Jr. or Pandora.

Throughout the game you will meet your friends (Seep, Smith and Weston, etc.). Thanks to them you will discover that Furi is a completely plant based being, and she is growing. Seep suggests using a Biocide against her by getting it at the secret army base in the World of Waffles.

You will have to go through the several levels by shooting a large number of much diversified enemies and monsters. Both characters can use their weapons to swing from hooks, and they can even grab on to vines and use them as zip.

Follow DJ, Pandora and the rest of the gang through dark forests, creepy toy cemeteries, llama farms, secret military bases, and even the River Styx to combat Furi and save their town before it is too late.
