Rock band is a music video game developed by Harmonic Music Systems and published by MTV Games.
Well, everything is explained in the title, you have the chance to form a rock band and rock the world. And how do you expect to do that with a controller? That's just the thing, you play musical controllers. Let's be more precise.
The game allows you to create an actual rock band, as to say, you'll be able to play up to 4 players and each one playing a different instrument: lead guitar, bass guitar, a drum set and of course a microphone. Just like the Guitar Hero series, the game comes with a guitar. However, the game goes further than its competitor, as the other instruments are here as well.
The game play is pretty much the same as GH, you see colored notes scrolling down the screen and you have to press the correct buttons (that'd be either, the ones on the guitar or the drums). If you're really doing well on stage, you'll fill up your overdrive meter and score maximum points. You can either play this game alone with the instrument you want on the "Solo tour mode" but the game gains all its magic where all 4 players are in the band and you take the "band world Tour".
For the PS3 and Xbox360 versions, you have the possibility to create your own unique rocking hero. You'll be able to change hair, clothes, tattoos and even how your character acts on stage. During the game, you'll win some cash from your gigs and spend it at the Rock shop for new items.
There has hardly been a better multiplayer game than this one. Taking the concept of GH and improving it in better ways, rock band will make you feel like a real rock band. You'll never let go of your guitar. ROCK ON!
