Cocoto Fishing Master is a fishing video game developed by Neko Entertainment and published by Bigben Interactive, released in 2007 for PlayStation 2 and in 2008 for WiiWare. This is a single-player game.
This game received mixed reviews from the gaming press; it was praised for its smooth animation, and pleasant art style, as well as for its challenging and captivating minigames; but was criticized for being not enough realistic on some points.
This game takes place in fictional universe; in Cocoto Fishing Master you will play as Cocoto a cute little demon whose mission to find five enchanted fish in order to stop the world being engulfed by lava from a magic kettle. Even if the story does not appear to be clear at all it is not really important to enjoy the game itself.
You will have to go through the different levels, and in each of them your task is to retrieve six different fish; when you get this fish they will be used by a sea turtle (your companion throughout the game) to make you a special bait to catch a boss fish. If you catch too many fishes you can sale them in order to buy new rods and bait.
You will have no difficulty to find fish you can see their position on your radar and cast in their direction. Moreover each level has two types of fish and they are color-coded on your radar. To catch the fishes you have to be careful and extremely precise.

The charming art style and budget price aren't enough to keep this rigid fishing sim out of the depths of mediocrity.
