Myth the Fallen Lords is a strategy computer game developed by Bungie Studios and published by Eidos, released in 1997 for Windows and Macintosh. This is a single-player and multiplayer game.
This game was extremely well-received by critics and was a huge commercial success worldwide, it has now a large community of fans. It had several sequels and expansions packs that form the Myth series.
Myth The fallen Lords was praised by almost all major game critics for its fantastic gameplay and its rich and captivating plot. For its time its graphics were really good and it features extremely original elements.
The game takes place in fantasy universe where a struggle opposed the undead and spirit forces of Dark and the living forces of Light. Balen and the Fallen Lords lead the vast armies of the Dark Against you, and you lead the outnumbered Light forces in a campaign of resistance. You can play as the Dark side forces or as the Light side forces; it is up to you.
Myth the Fallen Lords features 25 scenarios that are all well-written, for each scenario there is a short but interesting narrative that let you know what the war efforts are. But they do not mention what is your main goal while playing, so you will have to figure out what by yourself.
But you will soon discover that Myth the Fallen Lords is a difficult game and you will have probably to do the same scenario several times before achieving it.
You must take control of archers, explosive-throwing dwarves, infantry, and berserks. Your enemy has more or less the same units plus a few more powerful types (like the quick and brutal Trow and the lightning-hurling Fetch).
You will have to command your troops like most of the real-time strategy game, but in addition to this you can organize your units and align them into ten different formations.
You will have to take control of the high ground and your ranged attackers will be able to shoot farther distances, but the enemy can take advantage of the same situation. Sometimes it may be to your advantage to let the forces of evil thin their ranks for you
Myth the Fallen Lords offers you very spectacular deaths, and very well-rendered battlefields, as well as scarring and animated carnage. In brief blood and fun.
If you manage to survive and to advance in the game you will be able to defeat the most powerful of the Fallen Lords.
Concerning the multiplayer mode there many options and it includes support for up to 16 players; for this mode you will not be forced to develop your tactics, you just will have to be the fastest to defeat your opponents.
This fantasy game unfolds around a richly woven plot, involving an epic struggle between the undead and spirit forces of Dark and the living forces of Light.
