NASCAR 09 is the famous racing franchise published by EA, returning for its 2009 version. True to its license, the game keeps up to date with all the current racers and championships.
For once, the guy on the cover (here it would be Jeff Gordon), is not just there for show. In fact, he acts as a pit-crew chief to help users navigate through the different stages of the game, to finally reach the podium. In addition, EA has finally added Carl Edwards and his #99 car to the game, and as always the rest of the official racers are here.
Like most of the games of its kind, NASCAR offers a Race now mode, as well as a multiplayer one and the typical career mode. But the game has developed this mode particularly, allowing players to customize entirely their cars. You can even upload and design your own graphics with an image editing program. Once you've finished your car, you sign with a sponsor and it's time to race!
Nevertheless, the real fun in NASCAR 09 lies in its 77 different challenges (ex: complete a lap without going under 150 mph). This will earn you performance point that you can later trade to improve your car. The game offers different kinds of difficulty and each player should find his own mark. As the previous edition, NASCAR 09 comes with an online version, unfortunately, it hasn't improved much. Even if the number of racers went from 11 to 14, it still takes more time to launch the race than actually driving it. But now you can share your customizations with other players and, as a consequence, brings the internet gamers closer and offers cars that can only come from your imagination.
