Oddly enough, one of the most engaging aspects of Def Jam Fight for NY is the depth of its shopping engine. As players make their way through the game, they're able to purchase clothing from the likes of Phat Farm and Nike, jewelry from Jacob the Jeweler, and even haircuts—allowing for a virtually infinite degree of customization. There's something deeply ironic about the fact that the two most male-associated games on Xbox—NY and Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball—are both obsessed with the art of shopping and "getting all dressed up," but that's perhaps best saved for a future editorial.
