Kung Fu panda is a beat-them-up game developed by Activision. This game is both single and multiplayer.
We are now used to seeing all of DreamWorks's movies re-adapted on our favorite gaming console. Kung Fu Panda doesn't change the rule. This game follows the story of the movie, as to say you play Po, the "greatest" kung fu apprentice of all time. You have to stop the boar, the crocodile and the ninja cats from making Tai Lung, the bad guy, return. To help you across your journey, you'll be able to use all Furious Five members (Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Crane, and Viper) as well as Master Shifu, each of them having their own unique abilities.
KFP is a classic beat-them up game, as to say you travel striking everybody in your way. You'll have the occasion to use special attacks thanks to your Chi that will allow being an unstoppable killing machine (such as the Panda Quake ability). In your journey, those who have seen the movie will immediately recognize all the locations where Po goes as they are beautifully done in the game.
The multiplayer mode will offer you hours of fun with your friends (unfortunately there is no online version) with plenty of mini games that you'll need to unlock during the single-player scenario.
Kung Fu Panda is no more than a classic game (like many movie adaptations), bringing nothing new to the genre. However, the beautiful graphics and the hilarious dialogues will be enough for you to enjoy this game.
If I couldn't tell from the hot, humid weather outside or the fact that all the neighborhood kids are home now, then I could still figure out fairly easily that it's summer. Why? Because Kung Fu Panda is the second movie-based video game that I've had to review in about ten days. While it's pretty much a typical movie knock-off video game, it is better than average and has some fun moments to offer.
