Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends is the expansion of the previously released Samurai Warriors 2: Empires released by Koei.
Like the original game, Xtreme Legends continues the fight in feudal Japan. The game comes with 6 brand new characters, including the talented Toshiie or Gracia, and 36 new scenarios in the story mode, with 5 stages for each character. Like many games of its kind, you fight thousands of enemies as you advance through the mission to finish by killing the commander. As always you have many ways of creating a total massacre. You can use your musou special attacks that allow you to kill by the hundred as well as the usual combos. Also, you won't fight alone as your bodyguard keeps following you and even joins in on your special attacks.
However, the real novelty of the game lies in its mercenary mode. The missions have nothing of innovating as the objectives go from defeating bandits to rescuing princesses but this mode will allow you to unlock secret missions, levels for the mercenary mode, etc. And for the ones who just like to exterminate half of the population, Koei included the usual free mode where you can choose either the characters from the original Samurai Warriors 2 or the ones in this expansion. Of course, this mode can also be played by two players, which will offer you hours of crazy madness!
For the lucky ones who already bought the original, this expansion allows you to import all the data from Samurai Warriors: empires and use it in Legends. That means all the characters as well as the previous stages, obtaining new weapons and new charge attacks. For the others, a whole new adventure is waiting for you.
