Rise of the Argonauts
Rise of the Argonauts is a role-playing gamecurrently under development by Liquid Entertainment that will be published by Codemasters; it is due to be released on September 2008 for Windows, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation. This game will feature single-player and multiplayer modes.
Rise of the Argonauts is based on the Greek mythology but the plot of the game does not correspond at all to the reality. You are told the myth of Jason and his Argonauts in their quest to find the Golden Fleece.
You will play as Jason, a Greek king. His wife, Alcmene, his assassinated and Jason avenged her by killing her murderer. Then Jason sealed his wife s corpse in the temple where they were supposed to marry.
Jason refuses to accept her death and when he learn that a magical artifact called the Golden Fleece can bring her back to life, he decides to leave his kingdom to find it.
Jason and his mates leave the country on the newly constructed boat the Argo; among the Argonauts you will probably recognize the most famous Greek heroes such as Hercules, Achilles, Odysseus, etc.
You will play in different levels and islands all based on different Greek Gods, like the island based on Artemis (Goddess of Forest, hunt, etc.) has a woodland type area based on hunting, while the island based on Apollo (god of light and the sun) is an enormous desert and the island based on Ares (God of war and brutality) is a volcanic island with a gladiator arena at its center.
