Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is an action survival horror developed by Monolith Productions and published by SEGA.

The sequel to the one of the very first next-gen console games has arrived following the events from the first episode. Get ready to re-enter (or discover) a world of despair and horror.

11 months after the events of the first game, Ethan's state has only degraded even more. The phenomenon that creates psychosis and violence in the homeless citizens in Metro City has gotten worse and the city is overwhelmed with terrifying riots. After having resigned after the events of the Serial Killer X, Ethan falls in a world of alcoholism and ends up on the street. However, you are recruited back in the SCU to investigate on the murder of your mentor, Malcom Vanhorn. You'll start looking for answers and you'll quickly discover that mister Serial Killer X is not dead and is the one responsible for these atrocities. Your manhunt begins once again.

Condemned 2 picks up the gameplay from its predecessor but adds a couple of novelties to intensify the game. Like the first, everything is in first-person focusing on combats. All the fights with melee weapons and guns are still present but now your weapons break after uses and bullets are very limited. This will force you to use the newly added hand-to-hand combat which allows you to fight with your fists. You'll be able to perform combos as well as a couple of finish moves (throwing your enemy into a TV, etc.). As if the game wasn't hard enough, the developers also decided to add Ethan's alcoholism in the gameplay. If you keep the protagonist sober for too long, your vision will start to get blurry and unsteady making it very hard to aim with firearms. To vary from these actions sequences, Condemned 2 gave a greater importance to investigation. You'll be able to investigate and remember elements from a crime scene to try to unveil its nature. This will give you upgrade points that you can later use to upgrade your stats.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is a great continuation to the series picking up right where the other one ended. The graphics are still very impressive and the newly added content keeps the rhythm going and prevents the impression of playing the first game again.

This horror-themed sequel's thrilling set pieces and bloody combat are remarkably satisfying but not for the faint of heart.
