Bad Mojo is an adventure computer game developed by Pulse Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment in 1996 for DOS, Windows and Macintosh . It is a single-player game, with a 3D first-person perspective.
Even if Bad Mojo is a quite short game in terms of length, it got a lot of success and its sales were very good. This is due to its original ad creepy atmosphere, as well as its excellent storyline and the challenging puzzle available.
Bad Mojo remains an interesting game and it had aged very well, it has even be remade in 2004 and the new version (Bad Mojo Redux) presents really little differences compared to the first one.
The storyline of Bad Mojo is loosely based upon the Franz Kafka s the Metamorphosis. Indeed the main character Roger Samms inspired on Gregor Samsa, the main protagonist of the book.
You play as Roger Samms, an entomologist planning to steal money from a research grant to abandon his life in an abandoned bar. After an accident he is enchanted and turned into a cockroach.
So you will have to scurry through the walls of the bar, located in San Francisco, in order to restore his memory and his human form while avoiding to be eaten by spiders, cats or any creatures living in the bar.
Another originality in Bad Mojo is that it contains four different ending depending on who the player is able to rescue from the bar?s explosion.
Strikingly original, Bad Mojo is a gritty, action-based exploration that sucks you in with great visuals, and keeps you playing with a poignant story.
