Sim City 3000 is a city building simulation developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts.
Will Wright brings us his 3rd episode in the most famous building simulation in the videogame industry. Sim City 3000 brings a couple of changes from its predecessors giving the game more options and utilities to bring to your city.
For the ones who don't know the series, Sim City allows you to create the city of your dreams and you decide of every single detail. You start off by preparing the terrain with many options to modify the land and make it as you wish. Then, you start building by zones. Just like its predecessor, the game offers three different zones, residential, commercial and industrial with now different sub-zones for each of them. Every single zone is important to your city as they need each other to develop and are the ones that will bring the most part of your income.
Once your city is starting to build itself, you'll need to take care of it. There are 7 advisors at your side to help you in your decisions in different departments. For buildings to build, you'll need to make sure that all the zones have abundant water and electricity. You'll also have to provide the city services such as fire stations, clinics, schools, etc. These elements will act directly on your city and if some of them are missing, the consequences will be quickly felt. However, these landmarks cost money to build and entertain and since you don't have infinite funds, you'll be quickly in debt (at a certain point meaning the end of the game). To avoid such problem, you'll be able to change tax rates as well as local funding. Raise or lower them carefully because, your citizens will react to an abrupt change.
Sim City 3000 keeps the concept of what its predecessors had done and adds a couple of new interesting elements. You'll spend hours changing your city and improving it until... you have to change locations and build a new one.
