Burnout 3: Takedown is a racing videogame developed by Criterion Games and published by EA Games. The game was released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

It's been a while since the second episode of the Burnout series came out and fans were getting impatient waiting for the third episode. Well, it's finally here and it doesn't disappoint. Faster than ever, Takedown takes the arcade racing genre to a whole new level.

Burnout 3: Takedown comes with 5 play modes. These can be separated in different categories: the racing modes and the crash modes. The first race mode is the classic mode that any racing game has. Finish the circuit first to obtain the gold medal. As always, in order to win, you'll surely need to use your "boost" which you obtain by driving on the wrong side, avoiding cars, drifting, and now taking down the opponents' cars and causing them to crash. The other race mode is called "Road Rage". Here, to win you'll have to takedown all of your opponents' cars.

The crash modes are very similar to the ones in Burnout 2. The point is to create the biggest crash by driving at high speeds in an intersection. Even if there are three modes, they all are very similar, the main difference being that you either drive alone or in a team. Like previous games, you'll win medals which will unlock new vehicles and hidden tracks.

Burnout 3: Takedown really improved the series graphically. Never car crashes in a videogame have been so realistic and the effects done on the cars are impressive. Burnout still remains the reference in arcade racing games and at each new installment it gets closer to perfection.
