Zork Grand Inquisitor is a graphical adventure game developed and published by Activion. It was released in 1997 for Windows and Apple Macintosh.

It is a single-player game and a game point-and-clickand it offers the Z-vision, that is to say that when you are playing you can look around in a full circle of 360 degrees at each pre-rendered location.

Zork Grand Inquisitor is based on the Zork and Enchanter series of interactive fiction computer games.

In the game you will notice that the self-parody is often used, and it also contains many references and asides to staples and clichés of the traditional adventure genre.

For instance two items that are invariably found and often used in the Zork series, a tattered map and an elven sword, can be found at the start of the game with the notice In case of adventure break the glass.

So we can say that this game is often very funny, especially in the cinematics available along the game.

The game of Zork Grand Inquisitor takes place in a fictional land, in a city called Port Foozle, but throughout the game you will visit several dungeons, islands and many other environments.

The land is dominated by the Inquisitors who try to banish magic. They impose rules, curfews, and ridiculous propaganda. When you disobey you are condemned to the totemization; this process confines your spirit in a totem for eternity (it was originally an alternative to death penalty).

You will play a character known by the acronym AFGNCAAP (Ageless, Faceless, Gender-Neutral, Culturally-Ambiguous Adventure Person, humoristic acronym).

You discover an old lam in the sea and takes it to the TV-star Antharia Jack (who is an Indiana Jones parody). Together you discover that the lamp contains the spirit of the Dungeon Master Dalboz.

You will have to find the three legendary objects that will restore all magic in the Kingdom and defeat the Inquisitors. These three artefacts are the Cubes of Foundation, the Coconut of Quendor and the Skull of Yoruk.
