Unreal Tournament 2004 is a first person shooter videogame developed by Epic Games and published by Atari. The game was released exclusively for PC.
The goriest tournament of all the galaxy returns for its latest edition and it's not going to be pretty. Unreal Tournament 2004 has prepared a lot of surprises for the newcomers. Get ready to enter the arena and get very bloody!
For the few who have never played this game, let's recall the concept. No real story here, just some plain multiplayer massacre. The game comes with a solo mode but which mainly consists in making a character participate in the tournament and play in all the different modes and arena against computer controlled enemies. Simple but not very exciting. This is why Unreal Tournament is directly considered as a multiplayer game and that is where all the magic begins.
But what's changed from Unreal Tournament 2003? A lot! First of all, it takes back everything from the previous version so you're sure not to miss anything. Then, the game has introduced new modes such as Onslaught. There, you'll have to destroy the enemy's base but you can only attack it if you have previously conquered all linking points that lead to it. These strategic points are placed all around the map and you'll need to connect them in order to advance to the next one. But the obvious main novelty is the introduction of vehicles. Now you'll be able to attack your enemies from the ground (Goliath, Hellbender, Scorpion, etc.) as well as from the air (The Manta, Raptor, etc.). If you want a chance to win in the Onslaught mode, you'll have no choice but to use them.
Unreal Tournament 2004 continues the saga with a great episode. Without really bringing anything new, the game has enough novelties to really distinct it from Unreal Tournament 2003. Plus, as always the game comes with a great modification support to extend the fun (new maps, modes, vehicles, etc.). If you love massive multiplayer fun, this game was made for you.
