Silent Hill 3

Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror developed and published by Konami, released on Playstation 2 on August 6, 2003. It is, as the title suggests, the 3rd part of the now-famous horror game saga Silent Hill. The story of this new episode has nothing to do with Silent Hill 2, but is closely linked with that of the first Silent Hill.

The story begins in a shopping mall where is wandering Heather Mason, a young woman of 17 years, heroin of this opus. She is approached by a mysterious private investigator named Douglas Cartland who wanted to ask her some questions about her past. Finding him suspicious, she decided to evade him and hide in the ladies' restroom. After escaping through the window of the restroom she returned to the mall, and found herself trapped in a nightmarish alternative reality filled with unhealthy monsters. This is only the beginning of a terrifying adventure that will lead her to Silent Hill and she will discover the terrible truth about her origins.

Even if the game is more action-oriented with more weapons and more monsters, Silent Hill 3 remains in the same vein as his illustrious predecessors. There is still the oppressive atmosphere proper to the saga. New technical and graphic additions like walls sweating blood, textures that change in real time or the convincing facial expressions of the various characters strengthen even more the terrifying experience of the game.

Silent Hill 3 is a very good episode of the series. The scenario is certainly less tortured than that of the previous opuses, but it is compensated by the interesting and charismatic characters, and the formula of the saga still works as well.

Silent Hill 3 reviews

Silent Hill 3 isn't so much about gameplay as it is about creating a disturbing look and feel and immersing you in it, which is something it does very well.
