Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter is a first-person shooterdeveloped by Warthog and published by Vivendi Universal, released in 2004 for Xbox, PC and PlayStation 2. This is a single-player game.
This game was generally well-received by the gaming press and received favorable reviews; it was praised for its original and new settings, and the storyline even if it is not really innovative is extremely enjoyable, and the graphics and visuals are very good.
Mace tells the story of a futuristic universe in the Vagner System that takes place in the year 2412. At that time the human beings had terra formed most of the known solar system during the last 200 years.
The Vagner System is a frontier or wild west that is inhabited by large corporations and pioneers looking for a fresh start or to make a quick buck. The backbone of the Vagnerian economy is the large Tannan Corporation, which has a virtual monopoly over the Vagner.
Three different races populate the Vagner System all settlers from their own home systems, these are humans, the Jaldari (large gorilla-like humanoids) and the Valleakan ( green lizard-like humanoids). All three races are at peace and mix freely together throughout the universe.
Over this period of time other races are discovered and become integrated. But with these new races came new crimes and crimes had to be encountered.
That is why the major trade corporations created the Enforcers to fight against criminality, but they could not keep the peace despite their efforts. So finally the High Senate decided to create a new unit the Rangers.
You play as Mace Griffin, who originally belonged to the Rangers, but after his squad was slaughtered in mysterious conditions he was accused and sent to the space jail.
When Mace is released the Rangers have been discredited and even disbanded and the only thing you can think about is to have your revenge and figure out who betrayed you. So Mace goes into the bounty-hunting business, and while playing he learns mire about the conspiracy responsible for his incarceration.
Mace plot plot develops as a series of missions Mace Griffin is given while working for the Guild of Bounty Hunters, with some of the more epic missions taking almost two hours to complete.
The game assists you in reaching your next mission objective by providing you with a compass that is relative to the area you are currently in.
The game also borrows the armor system from Halo, where you can sustain a certain amount of damage before you will start losing health, and if you stay out of harm s way for a few seconds, your armor will automatically regenerate.
And when you are not running around space temples, space mining installations, and space luxury cruisers, you will be engaging in space dogfights.

Despite the game's derivative nature, lack of multiplayer, and slightly dated technology, there's a fairly entertaining shooter experience to be had here.
