MLB Slugfest 20-04 is the sequel from Midway's first baseball game, MLB Slugfest 2003. Baseball fans get ready for some intense sport in front of your TV!

The series of MLB focus on a more arcade version of baseball allowing some attack moves (hard tags and slides) and also changing the official rules of Baseball (7 innings instead of 10). Midway wasn't looking for a realistic simulation of baseball but rather on simple entertainment. If you follow the different criteria, your turbo meter will fill up putting players on fire and improve their stats. The latest addition to the game is the possibility for pitchers to catch on fire as well, allowing better throws and eventually, super pitches.

MLB comes with various playing modes, the famous pickup game, home run derby (supporting up to 8 players),career mode (create your own team and go conquer the different stadiums), and others. But what differs this game from other baseball simulations is the intuitive controllers. You pick up really quickly the game and after it's just a question of timing.

MLB slugfest 20-04 is one of the best baseball-based games on the market, improving in every way last year's version. If you are looking for a real baseball simulation as close to reality as possible, this isn't the game for you (you should rather try EA's series: MVP Baseball). But, if you're just looking for some plain fun and great multiplayer game, well get ready to step on up and hit that home run!
