Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner is an action game released on September 26, 2003, developed and published by Konami. This is the sequel of the first Zone of the Enders released in 2001. Hideo Kojima, the famous creator of the Metal Gear Solid saga, is the producer of the game.
The story takes place in the XXII century, 2 years after the events of the first opus. It all starts on Callisto, a satellite of Jupiter covered with ice. Dingo Egret, a former member of BAHRAM, now minor in Callisto?s glaciers, discovers accidentally trapped in the ice, the Orbital Frame Jehuty, a flying robot with a powerful attack force. Then the BAHRAM army, actively seeking the Jehuty, attacks Callisto. Dingo decides to move onto the attack and faces BAHRAM.
Then we embody Dingo Egret the new pilot of Jehuty, after Leo Stenbuck. He has to put an end to the personal ambitions of the terrible Nohman, leader of BAHRAM and pilot of the fearsome Orbital Frame Anubis. The latter wants to activate a fortress named Aumaan capable of destroying mankind.
The player controls Jehuty through many missions. Fast and flexible, Jehuty has a pleasant and lively handover. The nervous battles are truly spectacular. Along its progression in the game the Jehuty acquires new capabilities and weapons. It is a real pleasure to catch up enemies with the Grab command, to launch them against other opponents and then atomize all of them with missiles, for example. The fights are very varied and we are never tired to twirl around in the air using all weapons at our disposal to eliminate the enemies that are in the way. The fights against the boss also give rise to great epic moments.
Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner is undoubtedly one of the best action video games on Playstation 2.
