Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror released on Playstation on May 8, 1998, developed and published by Capcom. This is the second opus of the famous Resident Evil series (Biohazard in Japan). This is the direct result of the first Resident Evil, and takes place this time in Raccoon City. Two new heroes are emerging: Claire Redfield, the sister of Chris Redfield, hero of the first opus, and Leon Scott Kennedy a new recruit assigned to the Raccoon Police.

The game begins when the city is prey to the living dead, putting the city on blood and fire. Leon S. Kennedy has just arrived in Raccoon for his first day as policeman. He is then welcomed by the living dead who began to attack the inhabitants of the city. Seeing that his weapon had little effect on monsters, he decided to take refuge in a restaurant. There he meets Claire Redfield who is grappling with a zombie. He eliminates the creature with a headshot and save the young woman. The two heroes then take a car to go as soon as possible to the police station of the city. But a zombie emerges from the back seat and Leon loses control of the car which struck on a road sign. Barely after recovering their consciousness, Claire and Leon jump from the vehicle before a crazy truck crushes the car. Blow by the explosion, the two heroes find themselves separated by flames on both sides of the street. Then they decide to join themselves at the Police station.

So we take control of either Claire or Leon during the first part. Once the game finished for the first time, we could restart it with the second hero following a new trail with some additional points of storyline, leading to the real end of the game. In term of gameplay, the game is at any point similar to the previous one. The player moves through prerendered bitmap backgrounds, fighting monsters standing on the road and solving puzzles. Of course there are new mutant creatures and weapons.

Resident Evil 2 extends the experience of the first episode with a more exciting and longer adventure. This episode also met with great success and established the reputation of the Resident Evil series.
