Age of Mythology is a real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. This game wants more to focus on mythology facts than the previous games and gives importance to various mythologies by creating a unique scenario. Thus, everyone can find in this game the mythical gods and creators of Greek, Egyptian, Atlantean and Norse civilizations.

The solo campaign of Age of Mythology offers to follow the adventures of Arkantos, an admiral of Atlantis. It will travel to various regions where affect the deities of each faction. As in all games of the series of Age of Empire, you will need to build and develop your city. To do this, you use your villagers to collect various resources such as meat or wood. The meat can be collected by hunting or making pickups on provided shrubs. There are also faith points you can use to buy mythological units later, in order to earn these points you only have to send some villagers to pray to a temple.

There are 4 levels in Age of Mythology which allow the creation of buildings and different units. You start the game at the archaic age and then you can go to the classical age, to the heroic age and finally to the mythical age! Age of Mythology allows also the construction of heroes who are very important characters of your army, they have special abilities that enable them to defeat an entire army alone! That is why they are units to protect and use wisely. There are, in addition to normal units, units like the mythological minotaur for example. These units are very much stronger than normal units and they will be very useful. The only drawback to this game is that the development is really slow for buildings and units. Indeed, sometimes the games can continue for hours because of this and the fighting could begin only very late in the game. If you are also a lover of mythology and strategy games this game is for you!
