On Veldin Ratchet is actually constructing his own spaceship when the robot crash-lands near Ratchet s home. Fortunately he manages to recover the robot from the wreckage, nicknaming him Clank.

In this recording, Drek explains that his home planet has become so polluted that it is now uninhabitable. So he offers a solution which consists of building a new planet for his race by extracting large parts of other planets.

Drek s broadcast also asserts, however, that this will result in the destruction of the planet which he is currently targeting is Novalis.
