The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is a role-playing game released on May 1, 2002 on PC, and then on November 14, 2002 on Xbox. It was developed by Bethesda Softworks and published by Ubisoft. This is the 3rd opus of the Elder scrolls series, after Daggerfall and Arena. The game has two official extensions: Triunal and Bloodmoon.
Morrowind dives us into a heroic fantasy universe incredibly vast, rich and immersive in which an absolute freedom of movement is given to the player. We begin the adventure by choosing the race (Imperial, Dark Elf, High Elf, Wood Elf, Nord, Breton, Orc, Redguard, Khajiit or Argonian), and class (thief, warrior, mage, etc.) of our avatar. We are then dropped on the island of Vvardenfel, covering a playground of 24 km², with the simple directive line of the main quest. The player can go wherever he wants to explore any corner of the island.
In addition to this feeling of total freedom, there is an advanced development system for the character. Thus the player can choose according to his class and his style of play to specialize in some of the numerous skills that offers the game, like the sword, spear or axe skills, eloquence, agility, magic illusions, magic destruction etc'
Emphasis was also placed on interaction whatsoever with the scenery or the non-player characters populating Vvardenfell. Thus almost every object of scenery can be picked up or checked. The player can also enroll himself in guilds and brotherhoods.
The Elder Scrolls series having a very large community of fans, many mods (additional contents like quests, new maps and pnj, etc.) have been created by players. They significantly lengthen the life span of the game.
There is still much to say about this rich and comprehensive game. Immersive, lengthy and difficult, The Elder scrolls III: Morrowind is a game on which the player must totally involved himself in order to live, more than an adventure, an unforgettable gaming experience.
It's a beautiful, sprawling, and open-ended game that lets you play pretty much however you like as long as you're willing to fill in a few blanks using your imagination.
