It's hard not to love a good bad guy, and gray alien Crypto (voiced by a Jack Nicholson soundalike) is about as bad as they come, what with the world conquering and the human enslaving. But this bad guy is also the hero--as a one-alien army in this action-adventure, you'll harvest human brains for sweet, sweet DNA, abduct a beauty queen for probing, and level whole towns with the death ray on your saucer.

THQ's press event in Los Angeles this week marked the publicly playable debut of Destroy All Humans!, the alien-invasion-from-the-eyes-of-the-alien action game that first stepped into the spotlight back last spring. The game, under development at Pandemic Studios' division in the Australian burg of Brisbane, is roughly divided into five "worlds", each with a mighty mound of missions and side objectives -- the demo version available for play began on the first level, right where the retail version will open.

You know those sordid stories of alien abduction followed by lurid descriptions of all sorts of alien probing? Cryptosporidium-137 (let's just use "Crypto" from now on) is one of those dastardly aliens. While his name sounds like an element from the periodic table, the 137 actually denotes that he's the 137th clone of the original Crypto, which leads to his unstable mental statewhich makes him perfect as the main character in Destroy All Humans.
