Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is an action/adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games.
After the first two episodes on the PS2, the GTA series come back in the region of San Andreas. It is the first game to take place in the "fictional" west coast of the United States representing three of its major cities: Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco), and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). As the final episode on the Ps2 console, San Andreas uses everything the console has to offer us in this incredible game.
New game means new city and obviously new story. Originally from Los Santos, Carl "CJ" Johnson left for 5 years to live in Liberty City to escape from gangs and violence. But after his mother dies, he"s compelled to come back to his city and to Grove Street. As soon as he comes back, two cops (old enemies from the family) follow CJ and tell him to be careful as they will be watching him (in the beginning of the game, cops are everywhere!). Back in Grove Street you meet your brother and old friends. It won"t take long for you to get back in the Grove Street Family gang and start rebuilding the family?s reputation.
As its predecessors, you advance in San Andreas by the means of different mission to complete. However, the missions will rarely bring in cash and will mostly just enhance your reputation. Once again you evolve in a completely free environment where you have million of things to do. The game pushes the concept to its limits. Now, you'll have to eat in different restaurants to keep your health up, workout in gyms to gain some weight, go to the barbershop to get your hair cut, etc. In addition, you'll have to train on all vehicles to enhance your driving skills. You'll have a lot of space to do that as the 3 islands are huge! Los Santos and its surroundings are bigger than all the cities reunited in GTA III, you'll have a lot to explore.
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is one of the best games of the PS2 and if you don't have either of the two previous episodes, this is the one to get. San Andreas brings the GTA series one step closer to reality and it's hard to imagine how far they can still go.
It's been more than half a year since I ended my stay in the world of San Andreas. I had some good times in Rockstar's miniature version of my current home state, but frankly I've never really looked back. While the San Andreas experience on PS2 was truly incredible in many regards, the game itself was deeply flawed. My initial playthrough of the game alternated between engrossing and infuriating.

Holy f***ing s***. (Sorry...I'm swearing a lot more now because of San Andreas.) I can't wrap my head around how much stuff is packed into this one disc. It's grand, it's ambitious, and funny as this may sound, it's legendary.

For the latest batch of San Andreas shots, Rockstar shows off a few of the vehicles, a few of the secondary characters, and a few of the graphical effects. The vehicles we spot include a bicycle, a convertible, a police motorcycle, a pick-up truck that looks like it may be able to carry things in the back, and a helicopter. These vehicles aren't as unique as the tractor and RV revealed in the latest issue of GMR, but they do show the variety in the game.
