Guitar Hero is a rhythmic game developed by Harmonix Music Systems and published by RedOctane. This game offers a true guitar simulation and is played with a special device. On that guitar there are special buttons with different colours. They represent different notes to play during the song.

The concept of Guitar Hero is very simple, the screen is showing a guitar and the notes that you have play on it are falling. When notes come at the bottom of the handle, you must press the pick and pressing the notes corresponding to the one displayed on the screen to play them. There are also agreements and you have to press two notes at the same time.

In addition, there is a vibrato on the guitar. When a note is long you can make it vibrating to earn more points and modify the effect of notes. Guitar Hero has also a multiplayer mode that allows you to fight against a friend, two tracks are displayed on the screen and the one who manages to achieve the highest score wins. It is possible to buy separately another guitar to play at the same time.
