Animal Crossing is a life simulation video game released on GameCube on September 15, 2002, developed and published by Nintendo. There is also an opus released on Nintendo Ds, called Animal Crossing Wild World.
The player creates a little character at the beginning of the game, and then moves into a small village. The tanuki Tom Nook, manager of the grocery store, proposes to give a house to the player but he will have to repay it with bells, the currency of the game. To collect the required amount of bells the player will then have to perform odd jobs, for Tom Nook and the other villagers.
The game is based on relationships that could be established with the various inhabitants of the village. In each game the village is randomly generated, and the villagers are never the same. They each have a very different and strong personality, and you will have to know what makes them happy in order to be friends.
The game takes into account the time and the calendar of the console. Therefore the game takes place in real time. If we play the game at 11 pm it will be night in the village. The holidays are also celebrated in the game. So if we play the Christmas day we will receive gifts from the villagers, and during the days of Halloween all the inhabitants will be disguised. Some events are organized as fishing competitions on weekends.
The player may as well try to collect the many items that can be bought or found in the game, as umbrellas, new tee-shirts, and even old NES games. The player can also perform insect hunting or fishing.
Animal Crossing is a fresh and cute game, which delights children and adults alike.

Wild World doesn't toy with the original Animal Crossing formula, but simply being able to take your town with you on the go makes it an easy recommendation.
