Beijing 2008 is the official Olympic video game developed by Eurocom and published by SEGA.
Well the name says it all. After playing with virtual mascots (Mario & Sonic), Sega gives you a chance to participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in China. Just like the real event, you'll have the opportunity to be part of any of the famous sports and win the gold medal.
The game has a total of 38 events and 32 national teams. The events include all tracks (100m, 200m, 400m...), all fields (high jump, long jump, hammer throw...), all aquatics (50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke...), all gymnastics (vault, rings, uneven bars...), all shooting (skeet shooting, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol...), and others (archery, cycling, table tennis,...). The game comes with a career mode where you can improve your character and gain experience. Of course, all current records are in the game and the question is: can you establish a new world record'
But the real novelty of the game is its online game. The game becomes the actual Olympic games (at least virtually) and you'll be able to participate to the events competing against other players worldwide.
The game offers a variety of different sports and thus, you won't have time to get bored and you'll skip to the next one. Beijing 2008 will make you feel like a real athlete and you'll never stop until you get that gold medal.
