LocoRoco is a platform / puzzle game released on September 5, 2006 on PSP, developed and published by Sony. This game offers a refreshing concept in a cute world with a swinging soundtrack.
In a distant planet, small colored balls called LocoRoco live in peace and harmony with nature, singing and dancing with their friends Mui Muis all day long. But one day, vicious and evil creatures called Mojas decided to come wreak havoc on the peaceful planet. The LocoRocos then go on an adventure to save the fauna and flora of their planet and defeat Moja invaders.
The player is a LocoRoco who will have to move through the levels by avoiding pitfalls and enemies standing in his way. Strictly speaking, the player does not control the LocoRoco, but uses the triggers of the console to tip the screen on the right and left, to roll the LocoRoco. A mere pressure on the two triggers makes the LocoRoco jump in the air. We have to use the gravity to guide the small ball through the mazes that are different levels of the game.
Throughout his journey through colorful levels, LocoRoco will have to eat fruits in order to grow. Each level contains 20 fruits to eat. After eating several fruits we can divide the big LocoRoco into smaller LocoRocos. Their number will depend on the number of fruit swallowed. It is convenient to pass through many cramped passages. The Locoroco is also divided whether he is hit by an enemy attack. Then we have to hurry and bring together all the pieces in order to not see them disappear.
With a nice atmosphere, its playful music, its warm universe and its funny gameplay, LocoRoco is an atypical game, simple but effective.
