Soul Calibur IV

Soul Calibur IV is a fighting game developed by project Soul and published by Namco Bandai.

The Soul Calibur series is the reference of fighting games and has been for a couple of years. There is no other game that comes to its standards as the game offers beautiful graphics and an amazing game play. The 5th episode (as there was also a Soul Calibur Legends) keeps in the same line and is the reference on the next gen consoles.

The game has improved its graphics from its previous versions almost offering photo-realism in arenas and environments that can be hardly more detailed. All the characters are beautiful, the ones that we knew from previous versions as well as the new ones. Speaking of which, the two new main characters are no other than the prince of darkness, Darth Vader for the PS3, and his small green enemy, Yoda for the XBOX 360. This addition, how unimportant may it seem, adds a lot to the game and who has never dreamt of fighting as Darth Vader...honestly?

The game play is pretty much the same as previous editions; only more precision and fluidity have been added to enhance even more the battles. Just like Soul Calibur 3, you can edit and create your characters. In this version, the process has been developed allowing you to really choose every single detail.

As the Soul Calibur franchise has never had a great story mode (even though each character has a touching story) we will focus on the newly added online mode. It has finally arrived, be ready to compete against the world! This was what was missing from the game and it has been well added, with a simple interface and rapid games.

Soul Calibur 4 is the fighting game we've been expecting for the next-gen, and as we hoped, it holds all its promises. Ready for battle 1, FIGHT!
