The Warriors reviews

The Warriors delivers as a completely stand-alone work, and any fan of beat-'em-up games is certain to enjoy it on some level.

You're running low on cash so you bust a car window and lean in to snatch the stereo...but some wannabe good samaritan spots you and makes to call the cops. You spin the left analog stick to loosen the last few screws, grab the merchandise, then collar the guy just as he reaches the phone booth. Might as well mug him-his pocket change will buy a hit of flash (the game's narcotic health power-up). Now he's got two reasons to call the cops. Despite some pointless filler, a good story and spontaneous moments like these make The Warriors worth it for anyone willing to explore a bit of urban ultraviolence.

The Warriors previews

The Coney Island of today in its present, tourist trap state is a far cry from that of yesteryear. The citizens of New York no longer have to fear the vicious street gangs that inhabited the era for decades prior to the Guiliani era as the classic roller coasters and ocean view serve to cast those memories into the depths of obscurity. Yet Rockstar, a developer that is not necessarily known for adapting licensed properties, is doing their damnedest to recreate that very portrait of the old Coney Island with their recreation of The Warriors.
