Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is a platform videogame developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game was released exclusively for the PS3.
After having conquered the Playstation 2 with their many adventures, Ratchet and his partner Clank are back in the next-gen. Tools of Destruction is the first installment of the series on the PS3 console and the difference is felt immediately. Welcome to the new generation of crazy fun.
Captain Qwark needs help from our Lombax and robot. The planet Kerwan has been invaded by an army of robots led by Emperor Tachyon, crown prince of the Cragmites. He's actually looking for Ratchet who happens to be the last Lombax in the galaxy. Overpowered, the two friends are compelled to leave. For a chance to defeat Tachyon they will have to learn more about their enemy and thus their quest around the universe starts.
We might be on a different console, it doesn't mean that the gameplay will completely be modified, and it isn't. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction remains a classic Ratchet & Clank game but with of course a couple of innovations. The major one being the use of the SIXAXIS for many parts of the game. You'll use the motion sensor to maneuver Ratchet in certain sequences (while flying or free falling) and to direct the trajectory of certain weapons (path of the mini-tornado, laser cutting, etc.). The arsenal has of course been augmented with a ton of new upgradable gadgets that will help you along your adventure. There are also the space ship and the Clank sequences which remain unchanged from previous versions.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is probably the best game of the series and simply one of the best games of the PS3. Even if addressed to a younger generation, anyone can have lots of fun while playing this game.
