Postal 3 is a first-person shootergame currently under development by Running with Scissors, due to be released in early 2009 for Linux, Mac Os X, Windows, and Xbox 360, a version for PlayStation 3 will be probably released later. This will be a single-player and multiplayer game.

Postal 3 will continue and even expand upon the sandbox-style design of its predecessor, Postal 2. It will also include motion captured performances by a wide array of celebrities, including film stars and Playboy Playmates.

Like in the previous game of the series Postal III will feature the Postal Dude as the playable character, but this time he emigrates to Paradise s sister town of Catharsis. The Postal Dude, Jr. also known as Postal Dude is the main character in this series as well as the film Postal.

Due to his violent nature, Postal Dude is regarded as one of the most controversial video game characters. Indeed the postal game is synonymous with controversy due to its violent and sometimes shocking content. But it also filled with all sorts of satirical humor.

The developers are concentrating their efforts to make the environments even more realistic with destructible objects and day/night effects; but also to make the characters (playable and non-playable characters) like truly living individuals with freedom of choice (not only Dude but also pedestrians and so on. )

The background story reveals you that the Postal Dude is desperately in need for money, so to get some he decides to become an environmental maintenance specialist at a porn store and movie studio. You will have plenty of opportunities of employment and eventually get the hell out of Catharsis.

Your mission will consist of using a backpack vacuum cleaner to clean the place. And you can also use the vacuum as a gravity gun as it is able to suck up and blow object around.

But you can also whip out the machine gun and gun people down. But you can also use exotic and original ways to kill people by whipping out the new badger gun and running people down with it.

You will have to explore the Town Catharsis and slaughter the innocent citizens, for this you will dispose of various weapons such as an M16, a pistol, a gasoline (that is especially fun to use) can complete with matches, a badger and a laser-guided robotic monkey (by pointing a laser pen at a person which tells the primate to attack). While playing you will also be able to get a dog with the same ability.

You will have to face and defeat several kind of characters including a serial killer, an activist gone eco-terrorist, and, most vile of all, a presidential candidate.
