Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Saurian is the sequel to the first Mega Man Star Force launched for the Nintendo DS. It?s published and developed by Capcom.
The game is the eight episode for Mega Man battle network series starting on the Game Boy Advance. For the nostalgic, let me remind you that the Battle Network series are not the same game as the old school action Mega man games. This is an action RPG.
You are Geo Stelar, also known as Mega Man (when mixing with an alien called Omega-Xis). The story takes place in the years 20XX where a parallel world (Wave World) exists to our own. This dimension powers our electronic devices and once Stellar has changed into Mega Man, he's able to interact in both worlds. Your mission is to stop criminals who are trying to bring back to life an ancient civilization called Mu.
As I said before, this is not a Mega Man action game and you can see it really quickly once you start the battles. You are placed on a grid (with the camera behind Mega Man's head) where you can move sideways. On the other side of the grid, is your enemy who can move anyway he wants and attack in any direction. This only adds to the strategy in battles in which you'll really need to think about your timing. The original addition is the leveling-up. You increase your weapons, your hit points, etc, by forging relationships along the game. Also you improve your skills by building your 34 deck of battle cards (how you attack) which you win by defeating enemies.
Star Force 2 continues the legacy of the Battle Network series without really changing the way of success of the series. If you're a fan of the previous games, you'll enjoy just as much this one. For others, Star Force 2 is one amongst the others, try one of them out.
