Killzone 2 is a first person shooter videogame currently in development by Guerilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3.

The sequel to one of the greatest FPS on the Playstation 2 is finally coming out. Killzone 2 is expected to be the FPS of the next generation consoles, surpassing other games such as Halo 3. The Hellghast are back smarter and more beautiful than ever, the killing can begin.

The game is a direct sequel to the first episode and to Killzone: Liberation on PSP. This time, the game will be set on Helghan, the planet of the Helghast. The objective of the ISA is no longer of stopping the invasion and defending their planet, but to attack the Helghast where it hurts by capturing their leader in order to stop the war once and for all. To do so, you'll take the role of Sev, member of the Legion, Special Forces.

Killzone 2 remains a FPS like its predecessor. The mechanics are pretty much the same but with a couple of novelties such as the "lean and peek" system. It allows you to cover behind objects and then attack enemies. Also, the possibility of controlling vehicles has been added. The game aims to be as realistic as possible and seems to be the most graphically achieved game on the next gen consoles yet. Of course, the game comes with an offline and online multiplayer mode; there are even rumors for a coop mode.

Killzone 2 is thus on the right path to be one of the greatest games of the PlayStation 3. Graphically stunning, improved gameplay mechanics, the game really seems to have learned from its previous mistakes and will offer one of the most realistic experiences on the next gen consoles.
