Shinobi III Return of the Ninja Master is an action game developed and published by Sega for the Mega Drive Genesis console.

It was first released in 1993, and it was the direct sequel of the game called The Revenge of The revenge of Shinobi (1989).

Shinobi III seems to be one the best game in the Shinobi series. It was also released later for PS II and PSP and in 2007 for the Wii. It is a single-player game.

For its time the graphics are really impressive and well-achieved with detailed backgrounds and beautifully drawn sprites.

Shinobi is a ninja (literal translation in Japan) called Musashi and who is fighting a criminal organization named Neo Zeed. A shinobi is an extremely powerful and rapid ninja.

This evil syndicate was supposed to have been dismantled by Shinobi 2 years earlier. But it has returned and is now led by a man only known as the Shadow Master.

Shinobi has felt their presence and he decided to leave his mountains in Japanto fight against his enemies. He is the only one who can stop them as he is extremely strong and as he is the last keeper of the Oboro Ninjitsu techniques.

Shinobi III is quite different from his predecessors, as the action offers less emphasis on difficulty and more on speed.

In this game Shinobi has new array of moves and techniques. For example the possibility to jump-scale walls and a powerful running slash that renders him temporarily invincible.

You will be also able to use four ninjitsu techniques, but only one can be used in each level, unless an additional bonus is picked up. Among these techniques are engulfing lightning as a temporary shield, summon fire-dragons, etc. To damage a boss you can also commit suicide!

This game offers many interesting moments and you will be quickly interested in it.
