Conan is a hack and slash adventure video game developed by Nihilistic Software and published by THQ, released in 2007 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is a single-player game.
The main character of Conan is based on the literary character from Conan the Barbarian written by Robert E. Howard. It offers similarities with the game God of War .
The gameplay looks like Spartan Total Warrior .
Conan was quite well-received but was also criticized. Indeed in the game some beautiful cinematic are available, but at the same time graphics are sometimes quite poor. It is also a very violent and bloody game, and not very long.
Despite this Conan s storyline is really interesting and you will enjoy playing it. Moreover its soundtrack is really well-adapted to the game.
You will play as Conan (voiced by Ron Pearlman ), a barbarian warrior. You can use a single blade with a shield, or you can use two blades simultaneously, or you can use a two-handed sword.
Conan has a light and strong attack and he can string these attacks together into a number of different combos, and with these combos he can behead, dismember, etc.
Conan s story begins on an island. Conan is looking for gems but instead he found the tomb of a dark sorcerer named Graven.
Conan accidentally opens it and releases the sorcerer who strips him from his armor and leaves him for dead.
By releasing the sorcerer Conan has also released the Black Plague on Earth. Conan will have to start a quest to find his armor, put an end to the Black Plague and eventually save the world.
To complete your quest you will be helped by a smart and gorgeous queen. You will have to find your way through legions of pirates, monsters (real and mythical) and so on.
As you will move throughout the game you will find different colored runes available.
The green will restore your health, the blue will charge up your armor (when you would have taken it back). You can get them by killing enemies or by smashing objects, open treasure chest, rescuing women (that you can see naked).
The red ones give you experience points that you can use to learn new skills and new combos.
When you control many combos you can accumulate them and cause more damages to your enemies.
For a fantasy legend that turned 75 this year, Conan still has his followers and fans, and to celebrate he's appearing in a new action game for home consoles. Not to be confused with the MMORPG
