Grand Theft Auto 4 is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Game, released worldwide in April 2008 (except for Japan) for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is the ninth opus of and the fourth main game of the Grand Theft Autoseries. The series and the game itself experienced an amazing success and are major commercial success.

GTA 4 is one of the first games that uses the euphoria motion engine which makes all people and even non-playable characters even more realistic depending on the situation around them. For example every time the main protagonist enters a car a different animation will be generated depending on his position relative to the car.

This game was extremely well-received by critics from the gaming press and 3.6 million copies were sold on its first day of release. It became the highest-rated video game of all-time on reviews aggregator sites. It was praised for its graphics, sounds, presentation and obviously its captivating and immersive gameplay.
GTA 4 takes place entirely in one of the three cities of the original GTA game, Liberty City, but in present time and the environment are quite similar to GTA s III, but bigger and obviously more detailed.

Liberty City is a virtual city that largely looks like New York. In GTA 4 you will play as a Serbian ex-soldier called Niko Bellic, and your main goal is to gain respect (gangland), but also welfare and power throughout the game.

When you begin to play some parts of the whole are inaccessible to you before you acquire power. So you will start in Broker, and to have access to the other three districts of the city you will have to advance in the storyline by achieving several missions and tasks.

GTA 4 features the usual structure based on missions to complete, but on the contrary to its predecessors, there is no more mission state that prevents you from doing anything else. So as a result of this you can engage in various missions at the same time.

The game also provides you free roaming, and the usual elements of exploration and interaction with the city are also included and even have been enhanced, making the game more interesting.

So your character, Niko, can cause mayhem in the city, hijack cars, listen to the radio stations, observe the behavior of the citizens enter thematic buildings, work as vigilante, taxi driver, ambulance driver, and so on. He can also watch television programs or connect to the Internet, look for criminals in the police department database from a police car, take a prostitute to a hotel room, etc.
