Mass Effect is an action-oriented RPG released on Xbox 360 on November 20, 2007 in the USA developed by the Canadian studio BioWare and published by Microsoft. It is the first game of a space opera trilogy. The game takes place in 2183, after the beginnings of the discovery of space by mankind, and its first contacts with extraterrestrial species endowed with intelligence.
The player embodies the Commander Shepard, a special force officer of the interstellar Alliance. At the beginning of the game, the player has the option to choose the sex of the hero and his background. These choices will have a direct impact on certain events and on the reactions of some characters. A total creative freedom is left to the player with a very comprehensive character editor, in order to adjust the appearance of Shepard to his convenience.
Once sex, history and the appearance of Commander Shepard established, the player must choose among six classes, defining the combat affinities and abilities of the hero. Thus, the Infiltrator class allows specialization in sniper, and high technological skills (IT system piracy, destruction of force shields, etc'), while the vanguard is specialized in shotgun, and excels in the biotic magic (energy of mind that is capable of handling things at distance and create force fields).
After shaping your character to your liking, you discover the Normandy and meet its crew, then you will be dispatched to an emergency mission on a small planet colonized by mankind where you have to do your best in order to integrate the ranks of Specter which are experienced soldiers belonging to the Council of the Citadel. The Citadel is a space city which includes an alliance of several extraterrestrial races. The mission will take a dramatic and unexpected turn and will be the first step of a long journey to save the races of the Council and humanity.
Mass Effect offers a Background of an infinite richness. With its many planets to explore its dynamic interactive dialogue system which affect the scenario and personality of the hero, and its effective gameplay during action phases, Mass Effect is a safe bet of role play / action game on Xbox 360.
