Gears of War is a tactical third person shooter video game developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360 and PC.

The first amazing game from Microsoft's next-gen console has finally arrived. Gears of War is a work of art in the video game industry and gets as close to perfection as possible. With outstanding graphics, amazing gameplay, and awe inspiring story, it's no surprise that the game had such a success and became the fastest selling game in 2006.

Gears of War takes place in the human planet Sera where we rely on the source energy known as "Imulsion". Being humans, they obviously started the Pendulum Wars between various countries. However, once the Coalition of Ordered Governments took control of the planet; the wars ended but in part due to the "Emergence Day". That was the day when an underground force called the Locust Horde attacked the major cities and took quickly control of all the human facilities. The survivors fled to the Jacinto Plateau, the only place where the enemy couldn't attack from underground.

It's been 14 years since the "Emergence Day" and the COG are still defending the plateau. But now it's up to you, Marcus Fenix of the Delta Squad, to defend the city and destroy the Locust Horde. The four members of your squad will embark on a mission to save humanity and annihilate the underground tunnels network. The game will take you all over Sera to find the maps of the Underground network and destroy it with a "Lightmass Bomb". The journey won"t be easy but the world is counting on you.

Gears of War relies on strategy. Contrary to most games, only a few shots are necessary to kill you compelling you to cover and find the best way to destroy the enemies without being seen. You'll have to be very careful as if you aim carefully, your head won't be covered and who knows what might just happens. To avoid such thing, you can use the blind-fire which is safer but less precise. Either way you'll have to keep moving and attacking because your enemies will have absolutely no pity.

Gears of War is one of the best games, if not the best, on the Xbox 360. It is an inspiration for all other shooters and should be played at all costs. If you have the gaming console, you need to have this game!
