No More Heroes is an action game for Wii released on February 2, 2008, developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Ubisoft. This is a new game designed by Goichi Suda, after the unsettling Killer 7. Very different in its gameplay from killer 7, No More Heroes, proposes, however, a quirky world with a strange and uncluttered graphic aspect.
The player embodies an otaku named Travis Touchdown, living in Santa Destroy, a town near the U.S. border with Mexico. After winning an auction of laser saber on Internet and met Sylvia Christel, a young woman working for the agency UAA (United Assassin Association), Travis will become a killer. He will then have to eliminate one by one the top 10 killers in order to become number 1 and spend a night with the beautiful Sylvia. So there starts a delirious and violent adventure following Travis through Santa Destroy.
Just like gta, the player can move freely by foot or with Travis' big bike in the city of Santa Destroy. It was only after accepting a battle contract that the player leaves the streets of the city to go through a level at the end of which is the target to be slaughtered. But to eliminate one of the 10 biggest killers, we must gather a sum to pay the registration fee. Travis will then have to traverse the city doing odd jobs (collecting coconuts, mowing lawns, etc.) or filling murder contracts (eliminating a certain number of enemies without loss of life timely).
Once the charges are paid and the rendezvous point reached, Travis will have to wade through and eliminate his enemies with his laser saber to finally confront the killer in a memorable fight. The game is played with the wiimote and the nunchuk. To fight the player must shake the wiimote to blows. Depending on the position in which the remote control is holding Travis gives low hits or hight hits, which help breaking the protection of the opponent. Once the opponent is at the point of death, a direction appears on the screen to make a finish move. Projections can also be made by stunning the opponent and then imitating the wiimote and the nunchuk movements appearing on the screen.
With its delirious adventure, its entertaining gameplay and its fights against unforgettable bosses, No More Heroes is a must-have for all lovers of Suda 51?s games.
