Fable 2 is a role-playing action video game currently under development by Lionhead Studios and will be published by Microsoft Game Studios, due to be released in late 2008 exclusively for Xbox 360. This will be a single-player and cooperative game.
Fable 2 is the official sequel to Fable and its expansion pack Fable the Lost Chapters. This game will take place in the same universe than the previous games but 500 years after, in a colonial era resembling the time of highwaymen or the Enlightenment.
It will feature the same primitive guns and the entire area is broken into 20 large regions and more developed large castles and cities in the place of towns.
Fable 2 will also feature many new elements; for example on the contrary to the original game you will now be able to choose to be either male or female.
It will enhance the innovative system of morphing one s character based on their actions. The character morphing revolves around two main alignments Good and Evil, as in Fable; but Fable 2 will also feature new aspects of the character alignment system that include corruption, purity, kindness, and cruelty. Purity and Corruption are more representative of what the character is like socially.
You will encounter a pet dog that will stay with you for the rest of the game, regardless of your wishes. The dog is an entity that will get the player to care, to experience love or hatred.
Every dog will be unique in some way and morph depending on a variety of factors, such as your alignment. The dog will assist you by performing a variety of tasks. The dog can alert you to threats without alerting enemies of your presence. The dog can also attack whichever enemy you are the most vulnerable.
The dog obeys three main laws (do not irritate you, unconditionally love you and self-preservation), the dog features advanced AI. Although the dog is not directly controllable, it will respond to your actions; moving to attack will bring it to attack, running somewhere will have the dog run.
Regarding the co-op mode you will be able to drop in and out of other player s game at will, called guest player. The guest player can keep all the gold and experience they earn to take back with them into their own game world.
In Fable money is extremely important and you will have to get some to trade, pay fees and so on. You will be able to earn money by working as blacksmithing or bartending, or even through assassination.
There will be plenty of opportunities to spend gold in Fable II, and one of those is a bookstore that specializes in training manuals that would be extremely useful for you.
